Weekend Workshop: The Art of Newborning I

Are you curious about how reborn/newborn dolls are made and would like to begin this new hobby? Or are you ready to start the process of learning how to make fine artist dolls to sell?

This workshop is a perfect introduction to the art form. This workshop features a infant-sized (19"-20") doll from Secrist Doll Company. You will learn to paint a beautiful, closed-eye, doll fit for a family heirloom.

We will teach you how to apply layers of Genesis paint to create lifelike baby skin along with the blushing, creasing, nails and lip color that will make your baby come alive. You will learn basic doll construction, including an introduction to mohair and rooting. You will have the option of learning to root the hair on your baby or apply a clear cap wig.

This workshop is packed with approximately 12-14 hours of information and demonstrations. Sunday's schedule may be somewhat flexible, but 4-6 hours is usually needed to complete the course. Normal schedule is the following:

• Saturday, 10:00 AM - 6 00 PM
  Saturday of the workshop is a full day of instruction and fun.
• Sunday, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  Sunday is shorter and gives students an opportunity to practice and ask questions.
